Deep Tissue or Relaxation Massage -- $35 for 30 minutes/$60 for 60 minutes
Esalen massage (relaxation)
Esalen incorporates all of the massage techniques found in Swedish massage, and adds aspects of energy work as well. The desired effect is a sense of harmony and balance on the part of the client. The goal of an Esalen massage is relaxation, although physical benefits may be experienced as well. Therapists also believe that Esalen strengthens the body to promote healing and psychological health. An Esalen massage can be an intense experience as the body releases physical and psychological tension, and the therapist and client work together to maximize the experience.
By definition, Neuromuscular Therapy is the utilization of static pressure on specific
myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body
(muscles, tendons and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system. In a
healthy individual, nerves transmit impulses (which are responsible for every movement,
function and thought) to the body very slowly. Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress
cause nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body
vulnerable to pain and dysfunction. It is therefore necessary to stabilize low levels of
neurological activity to maintain normal function and overall health.
